Summary 2

The social media tools we looked at for this exercise included Pinterest, Pocket and Google My Maps. The first step for this Digital Badge was to create a Pinterest account. I have already had a Pinterest account from when I was younger. I have not used the website in ages, but I found it very useful when looking for inspiration for Halloween costumes and makeup tips. However, I never created a board when I was using the site, so I found the instructions helpful when it came to create a board of my own and uploading my own pins! I personally find this website is very useful for managing information that you find as you can create separate boards to file your information. This makes information easier to find and it looks a lot less messy.  

I have never used or heard of Pocket before, so I was interested to see what the idea behind this website was. After investigating into what the function of the website was, I believe it to be a very useful website which I can see myself using often in the future. This website stores any site that you wish to save to read for later. I will find this extremely useful for when I am writing essays and I find a website that contains a lot of information. I can now save it to my Pocket account and not have to worry about losing all the information. This will really help me to manage my information better.  

I have never had to create my own map before, and I did struggle at the start with the instructions as I did not see the google sheets that we had to download. Once I got the hang of it, I understood what I was doing but I did find all the steps very tedious. However, I can see how this site would be helpful as if I wanted to have a clear view of different locations.  

I found the peer review very helpful as it was interesting to see what everyone would use the websites for. I also appreciate the comments people give me as it helps me to get a different perspective and people also comment on what I can improve on for the next video. I find that I look anywhere but the camera when talking and that is something I am going to work on for the next assignment. 

I think I engaged well with this task and I can see myself using Pocket and Pinterest in the future for definite as they are very useful for finding information and storing information.
